Action Stories

It started as a tiny scratch...

..and then took 5 agonizing days to get Alison from her remote island to a hospital in Australia.
Doctors said she was within hours of losing her leg to a flesh-eating bacteria.

With the right tool, we could have turned five agonizing days into a seven-hour rescue.

Island Reach Alliance is a nonprofit organization dedicated to reaching isolated islands accessible only by boat, providing humanitarian aid, outreach, rescue services, and more. We aim to facilitate both one-time and monthly donations from individuals interested in Christian service, humanitarian aid, and medical assistance, targeting all ages and walks of life. Our team is committed to making a positive impact on these isolated communities, and we strive to share success stories twice a month to highlight our progress and the difference we're making.

A gardening tool led to a minor injury resulting in an amputation...

Diabetes is becoming increasingly common in many remote island communities throughout Melanesia. Without regular access to medical professionals, early diagnosis and treatment are rare, and complications can progress quickly. In some cases, individuals who suffer amputations receive little follow-up care and are left without the support they need to recover and live well.

Medical teams are willing and ready to serve these communities, but reaching scattered islands requires dependable transportation. Consistent, reliable access is the key to delivering ongoing care, restoring dignity, and improving health outcomes for families across the region.

A sailboat is not a cargo vessel, nor a passenger vessel and is highly subject to the weather.

Providing essential supplies and access to remote island communities presents unique logistical challenges. With no docks or marinas, vessels must often navigate shallow reefs and transfer cargo and people to shore using small boats along narrow sandy beaches.

These operations require skill, precision, and careful planning. Above all, safety is our top priority in every transfer.

It's all about people!

Through all of our travels, providing services, the most important thing we learned is that the people we thought we were serving most importantly want to have a relationship with us.
